YESSSS FINALLY

Gokudera got his character development and he won the fight! I - I'm so proud. Still no C.A.I. but in return he defeated Shitt P. with the specialest weapon of all. And awww, they're such bestest girlfriends. Their whole fight was filled with ~*special things*~ and ~*fabulous*~ but the end was so cute, so cute!

Although I sort of hate that Colonnello is constantly trying to get Lal to be ~more ladylike~ fuck you colonnello. I take great pleasure in the fact that whenever they spar Lal beats him soundly. Probably he just wants to just win for once.

ALSO apparently the new motto is that X-BURNER AIR SOLVES EVERYTHING.

Haha so I'm watching the final confrontation with Byakuran and I can't stop laughing someone help me take this seriously since oh my god this is priceless entertainment. I-it's just, every time someone holds a motivational speech or there is a touching ~FRIENDSHIP MOMENT~ and you go all 'aww, how endearing! how beautifully shounen!'

and then the scene cuts to Byakuran who goes OMG LOL and he's such a troll I just start laughing

amano might have serious troubles with writing character development or engaging fights and she has serious issues with making female characters but this series is so hilarious. because now we have byakuran hamming it up and before that there was ryohei punching dinosaurs and in between we got mukuro repeatedly stabbing fran in the head.

sometimes this is the best series ever

I find myself in this weird place in the KHR fandom where I read mostly Yamamoto/Gokudera fics, even if they occupy a very high spot on the list of SHIPS I DON'T SHIP AT ALL. There are pairings I despise more, like Xanxus/Tsuna, but, god, Yamamoto/Gokudera is just something I cannot see working. At all. One of these days I might possibly even make a more detailed post about that.

I guess I can read it as long as I don't think too hard about how it might fit into canon. Or possibly I don't ship it because of the two of them I like Gokudera better, while Yamamoto bores me almost to tears; honestly, the only thing I find really interesting about him is his interaction with Squalo and that's mostly because I like Squalo as a character, while Yamamoto is just... cheap. Really, really cheap. I mean, the 'flawless and invincible' sword style? YAWN.

On the other hand, Gokudera hits several of my buttons and I realized yesterday that he's basically Infinite Undiscovery's Edward, only slightly more unstable and with dynamite instead of greatswords.

Also also: Belphegor's second character song. I am sort of unreasonably in love.


Am tidying up the 'ultimate weapons' sidequests in Magna Carta 2; all the backtracking is getting a bit boring, especially when you have to go to Oldfox Canyon and only later realize you have taken the wrong entrance and need to be in the other area.

Juto and Argo have been gathering dust in the backlines ever since I got all six party members: I only used them when the Doomseeds were falling in Belfort, and take Argo out whenever I need to Armour Break a boss. I guess I just love my mages better? My standard battle starts off with Rue gathering enough kan for one of her specials, and then chaining to Crocell for Seraphic Raze. Lather, rinse, repeat. It's really rather effective, as long as I don't forget to use Armour Break.

I still love my whole party, even if I can't help snickering over Juto's flowery voice-over commentary. I mean, seriously, 'violently trembling heart'? Pffft.

Also, apparently all of Crocell's family's servants are snobs. I get that only Zephie can activate the test portals since they only test people of royal blood, and Malaccia is Rue's creepy stalker, but the people in Crocell's sidequests refuse to talk to your other party members simply because they are not Reeden family. ...Actually, that's pretty interesting, especially considering Crocell himself says that they were only lower nobility. Possibly it has to do with the nature of the sidequests themselves?

I can't in good conscience really recommend it (pretty much all the girls are sidelined and getting their thunder stolen and all that jazz) but the loyalty pings. Oh my god the loyalty pings. The potential for D/s (also as a pairing shorthand and I'm so disappointed nobody's done anything with that, fandom!), master/subordinate, blood-, knife- and gunplay and service-oriented submission oh my god. Also Dino's and Hibari's weapons, ahaha.

God. I want to write porn for this series so badly. Fuck my failure.
