Not very polished but I needed to get my feelings out somehow. First Glee fic! Uh.
BASICALLY I am on neither Team Santana nor on Team Finn. They both behaved disgustingly during this episode.
“ – and I can't believe dad only grounded him for the rest of the month! Oh, I can't, when I get my hands on him I'll – I'll...” Kurt trails off, frustrated that he can't think of something painful enough to do to his stepbrother that won't land him in prison or will get him similarly grounded. He's pretty sure that both his dad and Carole will wait for at least a few seconds before pulling him off, though. Or he can always set fire to Finn's wardrobe and then throw his games in the garbage. He's wanted those puffy vests out of the house for months now and it will be a good excuse to drag Finn shopping. He's pretty sure that, for Finn, it will count as cruel and unusual punishment. Moreover, it will make Kurt feel good and Carole might even support it.
Blaine doesn't say anything. As soon as they arrived at the Hummel/Hudson house he dropped on the couch looking like he would like nothing better than to disappear into the cushions. He hasn't said much of anything after his quiet conversation with Rory just before they left the school, just quietly listened to Kurt's diatribe. Kurt turns to him with another agitated snap of his hands.
“Come on, Blaine, don't you have any good ideas? I know you and Jeff wrote a research report on midieval death sentences for History because Jeff wouldn't stop talking about all the disgusting details during dinner for weeks. Weren't they horribly creative back then?”
Blaine gives a short, forced laugh. “Give me a few days,” he says. “Then maybe I'll have been able to dredge up some sympathy for her.”
Kurt feels his spine stiffen, rage momentarily diverted. “What?” he asks sharply, accusingly. “She was outed, by my enormous moron of a brother and her face is plastered all over the news and you don't even care?”
His boyfriend lifts his face, his eyes large and sorrowful. “She told Rory to go kill himself.”
Kurt freezes.
Blaine sighs, drags his hands through his hair and then curls them into each other. “Well, according to Rory the exact wording was that he might as well do the whole school a favour and disappear. And I just – I can't deal with that right now. I'll... I'm sure I'll feel for her later. But... but right now I really don't want to think about either of them. I...” He bites his lip, teeth worrying at the flesh for a moment, then he chuckles again. It's the most unemotional Kurt has ever heard him sound. “I don't know how I'm even going to handle glee club tomorrow. Is it alright if I leave before Finn gets home?”
Kurt gives a jerky nod, still too startled to say something. Then he steps forward and around the coffee table, and sinks down next to Blaine, who curls up against him immediately. Kurt wraps an arm around his shoulders to pull him closer and turns on the tv. They stay that way, watching reality shows starring shallow rich teenagers and their trivial rich person problems without paying any attention whatsoever until Kurt hears the familiar sound of his dad's car pulling up.
“Come on,” he whispers, giving Blaine a gentle nudge. “How do you feel about a trip to the mall? There's a sale at the GAP. Maybe they'll even have a cute manager for you to serenade.”
He doesn't want to think about tomorrow. He's sure that right now he really can't stand to see Finn, and Santana... Now that the shock of her outing has worn off he remembers the dodgeball game, and, yeah, Blaine probably has the right idea.
“She told him to kill himself,” Blaine repeats softly, bleakly. He turns to Kurt, eyes damp, voice on the verge of breaking. “I really, really don't want to see either of them right now.”
“Yeah,” Kurt murmurs, remembering Rory's bleeding nose, Santana's tearful face, Finn's confusion. “Yeah, me neither.”
