INCEPTION IS AMAZING
AMAZING I TELL YOU
OH MY GOD
SO AWESOME
it hit all the buttons eXistenZ hit as well several years ago and i geeked out majorly about the appropriateness (sp?) of adriadne's name and i sort of ship arthur and eames, rly. also saito was amazing and adriadne was so cool under stress!!!
ETA: apparently this is a requirement for people making posts about Inception: I belong in the camp of people who think the ending scene was real. I was actually expecting the movie to pull an eXistenZ-ending, but in the end there wasn't enough to convince me Mal was right. Apart from little details like the children's clothes and apparently Cobb's wedding ring, there was also the problem that if it was all a dream, then the rest of the cast would've been projections of themselves, but they were too independent for that and ended up surprising Cobb several times. If they had been projections that shouldn't have been possible since they could only act how Cobb thinks they would've acted. SO! Not a dream.
Other things: Rik and I started elbowing each other and sniggering as soon as Arthur demonstrated the Penrose steps to Ariadne, because hey! That's what we were working on in class! (okay, several people. i was supposed to build beldevere)
I was so glad Ariadne wasn't Cobb's love interest. I mean, I didn't really expect her to be since she was so much younger, but she was the only girl on the team and you know what that means.
The fight in the snow was really difficult for me to follow: everyone wore white! white everywhere! people shooting at each other! action shots!
Rik, on the other hand, had absolutely no problems with it since he could identify the difference in camo and the different gun types.
Related to that, while I started shipping Arthur/Eames during the 'dream a little bigger, darling' scene, he was geeking out over machinery.
In the end: OMG MY ARCHITECTURE WEAKNESS.
