Fic: drabbles (Betrayal Knows My Name, KHR and D.Gray-Man)
Fandom: Betrayal Knows My Name

It's near dawn when Kuroto finally approaches Senshirou's hunched form. The dim morning light tints Senshirou's hair a deathly, sickly colour and his face looks pale and drawn. Kuroto studies him for a moment, taking in the tightly clenched knuckles and the thin line of his mouth, the distant look in his eyes.
He walks over to his partner, socked feet light and soft against the floorboards and sinks down next to him. Wordlessly he leans his head against Senshirou's tense shoulder, curls his fingers around one cold wrist.
Whispers softly, reverently, angrily, 'Don't worry. We will have our revenge.'

Everyone is tense and paranoid after the Spade debacle. Tsuna and Enma are more jumpy than usual, startling even at their own shadows. Yamamoto laughs louder than usual, doing his best to appear healthy and unharmed, while Kaoru's face twists with guilt. Adelheid locks herself in her room for five whole days until Hibari breaks down her door and hisses something about lacking discipline and she tries to paint the walls with his face for trespassing. Ryohei and Aoba seem unaffected, posturing and challenging each other to boxing matches with unexplained fervour. Gokudera and Shitt P. disappear for a day and come back a collage of high heels, accessories and giant sunglasses, shopping bags on their arms and glitter on their faces, Gokudera's nails painted a glossy pink, Shitt P. adorned with at least three of Gokudera's belts, while they make up math problems for each other to solve. Lambo and Largo play, seemingly unconcerned, until Tsuna notices that Largo carries Lambo everywhere, so afraid of letting Lambo come to harm that he doesn't dare set him down.
Yeah, Tsuna thinks, watching his friends bicker, the tension in the room slowly disappearing with each joke, each laugh. We'll be alright.

Sometimes, when he looks into the mirror Kanda doesn't recognize his reflection.
Some days, his body feels strange and his clothes feel stranger. As soon as he's old enough to have modifications made to his uniform, he requests that the coat be made longer, down to his ankles.
It isn't quite the same as how he thinks – or maybe how he imagines he remembers – wearing a dress would feel like: no undercoats and his trousers and boots are in the way, but it is close enough, swishing around his legs as he walks, the fabric heavy and comfortable.

Because my headcanon says that Kanda also having been a girl in his past life would both be hilarious since all the fans would wank like no tomorrow, and also make past!Kanda/Alma about a million times hotter. And because canon hasn't explicitly said that he used to be a man...
